Independence, Inc. will begin offering Independent Living Counseling Services under the Kansas Working Healthy – W.O.R.K. program in January 2020. W.O.R.K. is a Medicaid buy-in program (Work Opportunities Reward Kansans) meant to incentivize career development and long-term employment for people with disabilities who have significant health needs. Independent Living Counseling Services (ILC) will help guide participants through the W.O.R.K program and assist them with goal setting, independent living skills training and other resources and supports as needed.
