Independence, Inc. will begin offering Independent Living Counseling Services under the Kansas Working Healthy – W.O.R.K. program in January 2020. W.O.R.K. is a Medicaid buy-in program (Work Opportunities Reward Kansans) meant to incentivize career development and long-term employment for people with disabilities who have significant health needs. Independent Living Counseling Services (ILC) will help guide participants through the W.O.R.K program and assist them with goal setting, independent living skills training and other resources and supports as needed. Join Lawrence Farmers Market on Saturday, April 12, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Downtown Lawrence at 824 New Hampshire St. for the Opening Day of the 2025 Season. With over 50 local vendors joining for Opening Day and various community organizations, customers are invited to bring their reusable bags and walking shoes to enjoy the bustling, vibrant gathering. The Lawrence Farmers Market is held every Saturday, April 12-November 22 in the parking lots in the 800 block of New Hampshire St.
