Independence, Inc. is a local nonprofit Center for Independent Living and is currently hiring an Independent Living Skills/Peer Counseling Specialist.
The ideal candidate will be an innovator and problem-solver with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with youth and young adults, have an understanding of and experience with the independent living philosophy, disability advocacy and local disability resources, and will possess the ability to work well independently to coordinate groups and programs as well as take leadership well and be willing to work as part of a team. Professional experience in nonprofit, social services or independent living/disability advocacy and/or degree in related field preferred.
