New Location, Same Mission campaign will fund move, renovation of new site.

LAWRENCE- Lawrence Habitat for Humanity will relocate its ReStore and Affiliate Offices to 2108 W. 27th St., Ste. E, which is near 27th and Iowa streets, neighboring Paradise Carpet One Floor and Home, and Sherwin-Williams. The move is aimed at generating more traffic and convenience for Habitat ReStore customers and donors.

“We are thrilled about the new location because we believe it will give added visibility and convenience through parking and location to strengthen the ReStore, as it provides a valuable piece to supporting our mission of providing safe and affordable housing to our community,” said Habitat Executive Director Erika Zimmerman.

Habitat’s Board of Directors in April authorized the move, and Habitat entered a contract with the property owner in June. Plans call for moving and opening the ReStore and Offices on 27th Street in November 2022. The current ReStore and Affiliate Offices are near 7th and Connecticut streets.

To fund expenses of the move and remodeling of the new location, Lawrence Habitat for Humanity has started the “New Location, Same Mission” campaign. The overall goal is $80,000 by September. During the public phase of the campaign, anyone can donate online at www.one.bidpal.net/restorecampaign

“The ReStore serves such an important role in our community, not only Habitat’s mission but also in supporting sustainability in our community through donations and the reuse of building and housing materials,” said Leah Henderson, president of the Habitat Board of Directors.

Since 1989, Lawrence Habitat for Humanity has built more than 100 homes in Douglas County and repaired many homes through our home repair program in Douglas and Jefferson counties. Lawrence Habitat for Humanity seeks to be a partner and catalyst in building a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

The Lawrence Habitat ReStore is an independently owned reuse store. The ReStore accepts donations and sells a constantly changing inventory of diverse, high-quality merchandise to the public at a fraction of the retail price, while diverting reusable household items and building materials from area landfills. Sales of donated items help Lawrence Habitat for Humanity partner with local families to build, rehabilitate and repair safe and affordable homes in the community.
