Named Some of the Most-Visited Places in Kansas in 2018
Lawrence, KS, February 12, 2019 – Massachusetts Street, 23rd Street Brewery, Lawrence Beer Co., Free State Brewing Company, and the Lawrence DoubleTree Hotel and Convention Center received awards for being some of the most visited places in Kansas from Arrivalist, a visitation-intelligence company, and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism (KDWPT) at the annual Travel Industry Association of Kansas’ (TIAK) legislative day in Topeka.
Massachusetts Street was recognized for having the most overall visits in the Attractions Category.
23rd Street Brewery, Lawrence Beer Company, and Free State Brewing Company were in the top 10 for most visits in the Brewery, Distilleries & Wineries Category.
The DoubleTree Hotel and Convention Center was in the top 10 for most visits in the Large & Luxury Hotels Category.
This year, KDWPT and Arrivalist handed out ArrivaLIST visitation awards. Arrivalist is a visitation-intelligence company that empowers marketers with a new suite of measurements to evaluate the lifetime value of a visitor. In 2014, Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism was the first state agency to partner with Arrivalist to track visitors who research the state online and then arrive in Kansas.
Massachusetts Streets, known to locals as “Mass Street” is the main drag in Historic Downtown Lawrence. The street is home to more than 100 shops, galleries, restaurants, cafes, pubs and much more. Many of them unique and locally owned, offering one-of-a-kind choices you won’t find anywhere else.
23rd Street Brewery is a locally owned full-service brew-pub with daily food and drink specials. It’s a favorite place to watch sporting events with friends in West Lawrence.
Lawrence Beer Company is a gathering spot in the East Lawrence Warehouse Arts District with quality, fresh beer, and food.
Free State Brewing Company is the first legal brewery in Kansas since prohibition and has long been a local favorite for local craft brews and food prepared with the freshest ingredients.
The DoubleTree Hotel and Convention Center was renovated in 2016 and delivers upscale, service-focused lodging and one of the area’s largest convention centers.
