SECOND ROUND OF CARES ACT GRANT FUNDS AVAILABLE TO DOUGLAS COUNTY RETAIL AND SERVICE BUSINESSES
Downtown Lawrence, Inc. has received $450,000 in grant funding to support retail and service businesses in Douglas County that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. Douglas County retail and service businesses are invited to view the application at downtownlawrence.com. Applications may be submitted beginning November 1 at 9am. Applications will be accepted until 5pm on November 13.
The grant funds will provide reimbursement for necessary expenditures by businesses to respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency. This grant program will reimburse Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), sanitation, public health measures, and business interruption related expenses.
Applicants must be locally owned and operated retail or service businesses, have a FEIN, registered in Kansas with a Douglas County address, in good standing with the Kansas Secretary of State office, and be in operation between March 1 and December 31, 2020. Continuous operation during this timeframe is not required.
The total amounts available to each business will depend on the number of applicants. Funds will be distributed in two waves to ensure grants are accessible and equitable across the Douglas County small business community.
