Lawrence, KS, October 25, 2022 – eXplore Lawrence received three Travel Industry Association of Kansas (TIAK) marketing awards at the Annual Kansas Tourism Conference held October 17-19 in Wichita, KS.
TIAK Marketing awards are chosen annually to recognize excellence in destination marketing initiatives across the state. Awards are determined by a panel of tourism and marketing professionals. Awards are divided into six categories and broken out by the organization’s marketing budget: Large (over $100,000), Medium ($20,000 – $100,000), and Small ($19,999 and under). eXplore Lawrence falls in the Large budget range.
Awards were received for:
- Best Visitors Guide (outsourced) for the 2022 Unmistakably Lawrence Visitors Guide. The guide featured local guides and personal essays themed around fun and games and was produced in partnership with Sunflower Publishing of Lawrence, KS.
- Best Online Media for the redesigned eXplore Lawrence website. The bold and colorful site was designed to deliver engaging and dynamic content to create a personalized and fun user experience that inspires visits to and throughout Lawrence. The site was developed in partnership with Simpleview, Inc. of Tucson, AZ.
- Best Community Awareness Campaign for the “Why Lawrence?” video series. eXplore Lawrence worked with Lawrence photographer Jason Dailey to capture locals who love Lawrence sharing their “why.” The videos were then shared via social media, website, and subjects from the campaign were featured on welcoming banners throughout the city.
