Ryan Rains named The Chamber’s Business Development & Programs Manager

Ryan Rains has been named as The Chamber’s Business Development and Programs Manager. Rains will help promote job growth and investment throughout Lawrence and Douglas County, with an emphasis on business retention and expansion projects. Rains will work closely with Steve Kelly, the Vice President of Economic Development, and will focus on building relationships and business development.

“The Chamber of Lawrence plays a very significant role in Lawrence’s opportunities for growth.  No matter the size of a business, The Chamber has a great team that seeks to work with everyone for their advancement and the betterment of our community,” Rains said. “As a Business Development Officer at Meritrust, I had numerous opportunities to engage Lawrence and find success through The Chamber. I am very excited to be joining the team and serving the mission as we seek to contribute to Lawrence’s economic growth.” 

Rains comes to The Chamber from Meritrust Credit Union in Lawrence, where he served as their Business Development Officer starting in 2017. Rains is currently working toward his MBA from West Texas A&M University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics with a minor in business from the University of Kentucky. Rains is also a member of the current class of Leadership Lawrence set to graduate in May.

Rains started at The Chamber on Tuesday, March 17.
